Not guilty and you still must pay the storing and towing charge

Wight Engineering event 402
March 3, 2015 the Will County judicial Committee met. Legislation was brought forward for a $300 Administration Fee charged to individuals when their car is towed. Presently there is no Administrative fee, but there is a towing fee and a storage fee that must be paid by the individual regardless of the verdict in court. Therefore the Judge can find you not guilty and you still must pay the storing and towing charge. With this new legislation, the administrative fee can be returned to you if the Judge orders it, but the towing and storage charges are the individuals expense even when found not guilty. Nothing is changed accept adding an administrative fee.

As a member of the Judicial committee I spoke firmly against what I consider unethical, immoral, and just plain not fair. With a not guilty finding the Judge should be able to refund the towing fee, the storage fee, and the administrative fee. Just because cities charge these fees to people found not guilty does not make it right. It should be the Judge’s decision if the fees should be returned. Will County would then have to pay the towing and storage charges, and not collect the Administrative fee.

The Committee argued that the administrative fee may be too high putting a burden on people. I felt like they thought the towing and storage fees were just an acceptable part of the process. One member said it is just like getting a lawyer; the court doesn’t reimburse that cost. I explained that you can represent yourself at no cost, and there would be no fees if your car was not towed unjustly in the first place.

Balich Ordinance not allowing aerial photos to initiate code violations is now law after Executive Order by County Executive

The process addressing use of aerial photos in code violations began in April 2013 when Balich first brought a Resolution to the Legislative Committee. Balich said he was having trouble getting it to the right Committee. The issue was moving from Land Use to Judicial with not much happening. Balich eventually decided to move it forward as a change to the ordinance which required a public hearing and a full vote of the County Board. After playing ring around the Committees for a few Months moving from Judicial to Land Use to Executive and finally to a joint meeting of Land Use and Judicial in December 2013, it passed and was to be set for public hearing. Finally May 6th 2014 there was a public hearing, and immediately after the hearing the Judicial Committee voted it down. This was a shock for Balich who thought it would pass with no problem. It was dead as far as Reed Bible, Tom Weigel, Ken Harris, and Jacky Traynere were concerned. Balich said it is not over, he was not giving up. He said this is a people issue and could not understand why the Democrats and Weigel did not get it.

At the May 13th Executive Committee Jim Moustis motioned to put it back on the Agenda, for a vote of the full board. Reed Bible and Herb Brooks voted no the rest of the Committee voted yes giving the ordinance new life with a vote of the full Board. Jim Moustis made the valid point that 4 people from a committee should not have the power to kill an issue. Mr. Moustis also pointed out that anything can be added to the County Board Agenda by the Executive Committee. Balich was confident there were enough votes to pass from the full Board.May 14th the County Executive passed an Executive Order, putting Balich’s ordinance into law before the vote of the full Board. Balich is extremely pleased with Walsh’s decision standing for the people of Will County.

Executive Order 14-30
Aerial Photography Prohibited
Lawrence M. Walsh, will County Executive, hereby prohibits the Land Use Department and its personnel from using aerial photography to initiate an internal Land Use complaint of an ordinance violation. Dated May 14, 2014 and signed by Will Vounty Executive Lawrence M. Walsh.

Tuesday was the first of several forums planned in advance of the GOP primary for Illinois gov-ernor.
Three of the candidates, state Sen. Bill Brady, state Treasurer Dan Rutherford and state Sen. Kirk Dillard attended the Will County Tea Party forum in Plainfield, but the front-runner — Bruce Rauner — was a no-show.
An empty chair was placed on stage for Rauner, who asked that a surrogate read an opening statement for him, a request that was denied.
The questions ranged from jobs to education.
Brady said he plans to abolish the State Board of Education if he’s elected governor.
Rutherford was asked about his views on same sex marriage.
“I think we need to be very sensitive about this kind of a discussion. Is it perfect to be in a world that has a man and a woman bearing their natural-born child? Sure it is. But it isn’t a perfect world we live in,” Rutherford said.
Dillard was asked about Rauner’s claim that union bosses control politicians.
“I’ve taken money from the Operating Engineers, that’s a private union, and they’re concerned, and they support me because they believe I’m the best candidate,” Dillard said.
Earlier this week, Rauner said all of the attention he’s receiving and questions about using clout to get his daughter into Walter Payton Prep stem from his high poll numbers.
“I’m an independent guy, I can’t be bought, bribed or intimidated,” Rauner said.
Rauner initially said he would only attend five public forums, but has now changed his mind and will also attend an extra one later this week.
After the forum, a straw poll was taken that included Rauner’s name. The results will be an-nounced Wednesday morning.

Senator Kirk and the debt ceiling compromise

From beautiful Homer Glen I am writing my take to an email sent to me by Mark kirk. Mark Kirk, like the freshman congressman openly stands for fiscal conservatism putting aside his vote for Cap and Trade, which he now understands was wrong. When I read his email I become very insecure with how this will affect my future and the people in Homer Glen, Lockport, New Lenox, etc. http://www.examiner.com/will-county-libertarian-in-chicago/obama-gets-to-spend-trillions-more The U.S. had a cash budget deficit last year of $1.3 trillion, but once you include increases to unfunded liabilities, our real budget deficit was approximately $5 trillion. Even if Americans were taxed 100% of their income it wouldn’t be enough to balance the budget. No wonder S & P lowered our ratting from AAA to AA+.
Kirk said he voted to support the Budget Control Act because it begins our effort to control federal spending to protect our economic future. “We should have cut more. Because the federal government borrows 40 cents of every dollar it spends, Congress should have cut at least $4 trillion from our future spending and borrowing. That is why I supported the Bipartisan Deficit Reduction Comission Report and the “Gang-of-Six” effort to cut trillions more from federal spending. http://www.examiner.com/will-county-libertarian-in-chicago/progressive-and-gang-of-6-want-to-restructure-america-lies-and-mis-truths Unfortunately, fiscal conservatives control only one third of the government. The Senate and White House are still run by fiscal liberals. Given the leaders we currently have in the Executive Branch and Senate, the Budget Control Act provides the best cuts in spending we could get”. http://www.examiner.com/will-county-libertarian-in-chicago/senator-kirk-and-the-debt-ceiling-compromise
I think S&Ps reason for downgrading the U.S. debt rating at this time is because, “the differences between political parties have proven to be extraordinarily difficult to bridge”. The reality is, the Republicans and Democrats aren’t far apart at all. Neither parties are serious about cutting spending. http://www.examiner.com/will-county-libertarian-in-chicago/joe-walsh-is-right
Thank you, President Obama with your socialist agenda that will never work. We needed to pass the balanced budget amendment and stop spending more than we take in. I heard no talk of spending on only very necessary items to start with. Instead of talking about stopping all Foreign aid, we heard of not getting social security checks out in time. Instead of stopping payments to all illegal immigrants, we heard the military may not get paid. The American People are sick of helping everyone in the world at the demise of the American citizen.
Senator Kirk went on to explain the bill, which I fee is a threat to the economic well-being of our Country. I feel no matter what happened the credit rating was going down. I disagree with the compromise, but understand how the Senator rationalized his support.
* Cuts $900 billion over ten years from planned spending by the regular part of the government that spends about one in three taxpayer dollars,
* Cuts a further $1.5 trillion from automatic spending (entitlement programs) that spend two-thirds of taxpayer dollars through legislation written by a bipartisan Joint House-Senate Committee with powers to ensure up or down votes in the House and Senate. Should this bill fail, more automatic spending reductions would ensure that the promised savings will be realized.
* Requires that the Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution will be voted on without further delay this fall by the House and Senate. If approved, this amendment needs no signature by the President before going to the States. If 3/4 of States approve, the Constitution is amended.
* Allows the President to request a $900 billion increase to the debt limit following the passage of the bill, and another $1.5 trillion once the $1.5 trillion reduction to automatic spending reforms is submitted to Congress or the Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution is sent to the states.
The Budget Control Act will prevent American default, ensuring the prompt fulfillment of our commitments to Social Security beneficiaries, veterans and Medicare patients. While only a first step, it will increase the transparency, performance and results we should demand from America’s government. By cutting spending and only allowing debt increases of equal amounts, this bill avoids an immediate crisis and sets the precedent of reforming and reducing automatic spending by the federal government.

Obama will have trillions to spend

From beautiful Homer Glen, I have been simply trying to digest what just happened with the debt ceiling vote/compromise. I am not a happy camper. I understand that no matter how you spin it, giving away money you borrow is not logical. I am questioning how this will affect me in beautiful Homer Glen. Our elected officials just gave a Progressive, socialist driven president more money to spend. Trillions more because those we elected to office don’t have the will to fix the problem with a balanced budget. Not one word from the media on the plan of freezing all spending to current levels this year and then cutting all spending by 1% per year for 7 to 10 years. Instead the President who never presented a plan gets the ability to spend trillions more. I feel like Moody’s will lower our rating because we probably will never be able to pay off the debt, due to inept people in both the Senate and House. Every compromise takes away from logical economic principals, lowering the bar when future negotiations will need to take place. http://www.examiner.com/will-county-libertarian-in-chicago/obama-gets-to-spend-trillions-more

Government waste, increased taxes, over spending

From Beautiful Homer Glen I was just taken back after seeing the Video “ The Cartell” at the Homer Lockport Tea Party meeting. This film, exposed the school system for what it really is in many cases, a “money machine.” It exposes the fact that the teachers union is in bed with the Democratic Party, and the Superintendent of schools. Huge amounts of waste and unnecessary spending are done in the name of the children. In many cases no one knows where the money is being spent, since only a very small amount goes for teacher’s salaries. When the teachers union or administration says “it” is for the children they are playing their equivalent to the Race Card. Schools are the largest portion of property tax, and can be a sink hole of waste and unneeded spending.

Property Taxes in Homer Glen rose despite the assessed values dropping because the rates went up from the various taxing districts like Schools, Fire, and Library. The taxing districts with the exception of the Township raised their levy’s. January 1st 2012 the 2% reduction in Social Security Tax will be removed, making the 2% increase in State of Illinois Tax passed by the Progressive Democrats, in the State of Illinois take more money out of our pay checks. If you make $40,000 per year you get $66 per month extra taken out of your check. http://www.examiner.com/will-county-libertarian-in-chicago/government-waste-rising-taxes-cut-the-debt-ceiling

Bobby Jindal gets it

From Beautiful Homer Glen, I just finished reading an email from Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. He is angry at the stupidity coming from our elected people in Washington. It is a small world when it comes to how Homer Glen is affected the sane as a faraway State like Louisiana when it comes to waste, spending, and debt forced on an unwilling people. Read more on Will County Examiner article http://www.examiner.com/will-county-libertarian-in-chicago/bobby-jindal-gets-it People who produce are not willing to accept the idiotic notion that we should borrow money to give to people, governments, and programs that will never pay it back and demand more. It is nice to be charitable but stupid to borrow money to do it. http://www.examiner.com/will-county-libertarian-in-chicago/don-t-laugh-at-sentelli What on earth is Obama thinking? I know he believes in the socialist model, but the man can’t be walking with his eyes closed. The Progressives are even worse, going along with this foolishness, they are simply afraid of braking rank with their President and doing what is right. Some Republicans are in that mix and should be even more ashamed, because we sent then to do a job and they are failing us. If those people in Washington did their family budget like they do the countries, they would be trying to collect food stamps, free medical and other government programs which they would not qualify for because they make too much money. They would be asked why they earn 1,000,000 plus per year and only have increasing credit card balances to show for it.

Progressives and gang of 6 lies and mis-truths

From Beautiful Homer Glen, I just finished watching a You Tube that made my blood boil. The people on Social Security in Homer Glen should be outraged. The President threatens that the checks may not be sent out, despite having enough money in the fund. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoDvkhnNdXo&feature=player_embedded#at=160 The fact that the Social Security Trust fund has been robbed for years is a monument to our corrupt bankrupt morally sick elected politicians that allowed this to happen. They stole this money by sticking IOU’s in the Trust Fund. Despite the stolen money, there is enough revenue, which is deducted from our pay checks to keep paying those receiving Social Security checks. If a large percent of the population in Homer Glen or any city is not paid the cry would be so loud that the local congressman would give into raising the Debt Ceiling. The Threat is the Progressive nuclear bomb, and based on a lie, and deceit.

Joe Walsh is right

From Beautiful Homer Glen, I agree with Joe Walsh when he tells Obama to stop lying. Everyone from Homer Glen Illinois to Austin Texas are feeling the economic pressures from our Progressive president that wants to make us like a socialist European Country with their collapsing economy’s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVPuWUZTYVQ This attitude by the Progressives for raising the debt ceiling will not cut off our seniors social security checks unless the president orders that. There are numerous families in Homer Glen, Lockport, and New Lenox experiencing loss of Income, jobs, and homes. We can’t trust our elected officials to not only live within their means, but to work on cutting the budget. Elected officials are living under the false premise that the people will elect them over and over based on the “THINGS” that they say they provided. THEY DON’T TELL YOU THAT EVERYTHING YOU GET CAME FROM TAXPAYER MONEY. They are not giving you anything. You are paying for it. These elected people forget that we are not all sheeple. Most people get it, and it can be seen in the approval numbers for Congress and the President. http://www.examiner.com/will-county-libertarian-in-chicago/joe-walsh-is-right

Basic economics for elected officials

Understanding that spending causes Debt, and the Elected officials need to stop using our money to buy our votes with doing things for us. Remember the only money government has comes from the taxpayer.
